About the evening:

This is a fundraising evening towards the fantastic work NESST do for urban nature in Nether Edge and Sharrow (where I live)- find out more about their work here.

The evening will give you a chance to experience forest bathing (translated from the Japanese Shinrin-Yoku- think soaking up the atmosphere of the forest rather than an actual bath). It’s a practice of slowing down and mindfully engaging with nature through your senses. It was developed in Japan in the 80s in response to high levels of stress related illnesses, and there has been a lot of research showing positive impact on wellbeing and mental health.

This experiential evening will be complimented by a NESST talk in Autumn going into more depth on the impact of nature connection and forest bathing on mental health, and the link to inspiring positive environmental behaviour.
