The Feel-Good Factor: Nature, wellbeing and environmental behaviour

Monday 3rd November, 7pm

Lees Hall Golf Club, Hemsworth Road, Sheffield S8 8LL

Talk in collaboration with Graves Park Climate Resilience Project

Join Forest Bathing practitioners Caroline Cook and Helen Todd for an engaging session exploring nature connection and its links to environmental behaviour.

We'll start with an introduction to forest bathing (the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku) and the well-documented benefits that spending mindful time in nature can have on our mental health and wellbeing. You'll get a little taste of this through a short sensory activity using natural items gathered from local woodlands. We’ll then look at research exploring the link between how deeply we connect with nature and our attitudes and behaviours on environmental issues.

We'll finish with plenty of discussion time to share thoughts on what this means for us and our community. There'll be time for questions and ideas about where we go from here.

Whether you're new to nature connection or already spend lots of time outdoors, this session offers fresh insights into how our relationship with the natural world might benefit both ourselves and the planet.

No outdoor clothing needed- we'll be staying warm indoors whilst bringing the forest to us.
