Spring Equinox Yoga and Forest Bathing
Join us for this special collaborative event with Sheffield Yoga Centre to mark the Spring Equinox!
Date: 21st March Time: 1:30pm- 3:45pm
Bookings via Sheffield Yoga Centre here.
The session will begin with a general level Iyengar Yoga class led by Carolyn Usher from Sheffield Yoga Centre and focusing on grounding and connecting the body to the earth in this season of new growth. Sheffield Yoga Centre believe that yoga is for everyone- no matter how old, stiff or out of shape.
We will follow the class with an immersive woodland experience of forest bathing (from the Japanese ‘Shinrin-Yoku’) with Helen from Unfurling. Originating in Japan in the 1980s to help city dwellers manage modern life's pressures, this practice has a strong evidence base for improving psychological wellbeing and reducing stress.
The session will involve a series of sensory activities designed to help you slow down and engage fully with the woodland environment through all your senses. As we mark the Spring equinox, we’ll also take some time for nature inspired reflection and thinking about the seeds (real or metaphorical) we wish to plant and nurture for the rest of the year.
