Spring is a time when flowers start blooming, seeds sown in autumn and winter are germinating and (my favourite metaphor) ferns are unfurling, their tightly bundled potential slowly revealing itself. It's celebrated in many cultures as a time of renewal and fresh starts, from the Celtic celebrations of Ostara (Spring Equinox) to Persian Nowruz new year, to Japanese cherry blossom viewing.
The Spring Reset will combine mindful nature connection with creative reflection, giving you space to step back from the endless to-do list and reconnect with what's really important to you. We'll use gentle forest bathing practices to help you shift into a calmer, more creative state of mind, and explore what you'd like to let go of and what new possibilities you want to nurture in the coming months.
Through nature-inspired creative activities and guided reflection, you'll have time to consider what matters most and plant the metaphorical seeds for what you want to grow. If you had a spate of New Year's resolutions, this will be a chance to come back to them gently and think about what you want to celebrate and anything you want to drop, without beating yourself up.
This reset is particularly suited to freelancers, micro business owners, and people working in social enterprises, startups, and small charities or activist groups (though it's open to everyone). I've spoken to so many people from these groups who talk about being on the 'hamster wheel' of constant doing and how hard it is to take time and space to step back, reflect and dream. This is a fantastic opportunity for just that.
The venue is Brunts Barn in the beautiful Peak District, with gorgeous woodlands right on the doorstep.
Transport: Parking at Brunts Barn is very limited and we prioritise people with limited mobility, so please let us know if this applies to you. We encourage people to take the train if possible. There are direct trains from Sheffield and Manchester and it's less than 10 minutes' walk from the station. There is also paid parking by the station.
Suggested contribution £75- businesses, freelancers who are doing great, thanks. £40 skint freelancers/ charities who need more work but REALLY need some headspace. £10 unfunded grassroots groups.
